This document is mainly focused on what makes a good leader. Giving detailed examples and tactics of what makes strong leaders and weak leaders makes this document somewhat interesting in a way that it is like reading advice. "He who has well fortified his city and who has followed the policies towards his own subjects that I have outlined above and will describe below, can be sure his enemies will think twice before they attack him." This quote is a good example of creating a good defense before worrying about an offense when in control of something. Machiavelli explains that the Germans are a well fortified nation which nobody wants to mess with. They have a good governmental system which makes them a well-rounded country. The document gets a little confusing on the second page. I don't know what Machiavelli is trying to accomplish by talking about sieges against your own rulers and having them be in your debt. I don't know if I've misinterpreted the document, but I can't make any sense of the second page. The third pages discusses the qualities that make a good leader or a bad leader. A good leader can't please everyone, but can balance out his good qualities with his bad qualities to try and create the best system for him and the people he is governing.
